Reflections on My Father the Reverend

My father the Reverend Robert M. Eddy was a Unitarian Universalist minister from 1963 until he died in 2018.  From the pulpit he preached his message of peace, the message taught by such great spiritual leaders as Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Jesus Christ.  He was a pacifist and humanist who believed in the good in people, and my perspectives growing up were profoundly shaped by him.

Since his death I have been reviewing his life-work and reflecting on who I am beyond a UU preacher kid.  Born an optimist, I later fell into the despair of cynicism as the world continued to ignore the lessons of peace.  Many of my father's sermons and teaches are as relevant today as they were when he wrote them as far back as the early 60's.  My reflections on his writings are part of my memoir An Optimist Path through Cynicism.

I invite you to join me as I archive his collective works of over half a century, reflect on there meaning, and create a platform for thoughtful exploration at the intersection of spirituality, personal growth, and social justice.
